Parent Partnership Group (3)

It was so nice to see so many parents turn out for the Parent Partnership Group meeting today.  The group always meet on the first Thursday of every month.  In today's meeting we discussed:

  1. Communication between school and home regarding the pupil’s day in school.  School are continuing to work closely with parents to communicate effectively through SeeSaw app.
  2. The acting head (Deiniol Harries) shared updates with what has been happening in the school e.g. preparing for Estyn inspectors and outside work (an independent flat for our older pupils)
  3. Today Leusa and Hannah, the School's behaviour analysts shared what their role is within the school and how they implement and support staff and pupils to work on certain behaviours.  They explained their behaviour plans and the possibilites e.g. with toiletting programmes.
  4. Each meeting will cover a specific topic – the Parent Partnership Group have invited Rachel Hudson to the next meeting, she is a specialist nurse from Derwen and will be speaking about 'toiletting issues' at next month's meeting.
  5. A questionnaire to parents was shared through SeeSaw, unfortunately not many replied to the questionnaire.
  6. The Group are hoping to share information of an event they hope to run at the end of the Easter holidays, held at the School.  More information will follow closer to the date.
